SCSD #3 Board Met Wednesday

SCSD#3 met on Wednesday, and a large crowd attended the meeting. An invocation was given by pastor Mark King of the Clearmont Community Church, asking for ‘wisdom and civility in our conversations.’

The House Presentation was by Ileigh Patterson and Hank George of House Iaspis, the House of Refinement. Since it is February, Patterson talked about what their house did for Valentines’ Day.

There were two visitors who spoke to the board one was Kelly Betz,

School Chef Aubrey Holland spoke about Superintendent Chase Christensen, and his work at the school.

SCSD#3 Strategic Plan was presented to the board, and the board approved several contracts, including the assistant principal contract, the district salary schedule and approval of a head volleyball coach, Morgan Kremers.

They also approved the letter of retirement from Brenda Michelena, AP/Payroll clerk. The board members thanked Michelena for her service to the school and the community.

The board discussed approving a contract with Arete Design for summer construction projects, Fencing along the Highway and the Security Vestibule.

Karis Prusak talked to the community members who were attending the meeting, saying that some people had complaints about the board, and their qualifications. She listed the qualifications of many board members; education, life experiences and other qualifications. She ended with this,
