SCSD#1 Board Meets on Tuesday

The SCSD#1 Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, February 17,at the Central Office in Ranchester.

Chairman Clint Krumm mentioned the new plaque on the wall in the board room, and thanked Wanda Orchard, Executive Secretary, for hanging up the plaque.

The board heard a presentation from TRMS principal Russ Wilde.

He talked about some competitions that the students had during the past winter.

He said they want to promote life-long literacy skills and had some competitions to help keep kids interested in reading as well.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Jones thanked Wilde for his leadership.

Jones also said he was keeping an eye on the upcoming budget session in the legislature as much of what they do will affect the schools.

Big Horn High School Student Representative Walker Mitchell gave a report on what was happening at BHHS this month. TRHS student representative Erika Strutzman was absent.

The board briefly discussed the facilities plan, but the board voted to table the discussion until the next meeting.

There were no visitors to the meeting, and the board moved to approve several policies on firsts and second readings.
