Local Nonprofits in Sheridan and Johnson Counties Awarded Over $76K in Grants

A number of local nonprofits in Sheridan and Johnson Counties have been awarded funding in the form of grants. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.


The Sheridan-Johnson local board of the Wyoming Community Foundation has awarded $76,500 in grants to nonprofit organizations that provide services in Sheridan and Johnson Counties. According to the Wyoming Community Foundation, the grants were awarded through the fall grant cycle to 12 different nonprofits and will aid in supporting vital programs and services that strengthen communities and help local nonprofits respond to evolving needs.

The grant recipients include the Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming; Hoofprints of the Past Museum; the Johnson County Rural Health Care District; the New Museum at the Bradford Brinton Ranch; the Clear Creek Wood Bank; the Sheridan Artists’ Guild; the Museum at the Bighorns; The Food Group; the Tongue River Child’s Place; the WYO Theater Foundation; and the Wyoming Wilderness Association. In 2024, the Sheridan-Johnson local board awarded 26 grants totaling more than $165,000, supporting a wide range of causes—from food insecurity and health care to education, youth programs, the arts, and childcare.
