Published

on

The City of Sheridan Fleet Replacement Plan within the Utilities Department identifies the schedule and projected cost for replacing each of its fleet assets on a prescribed basis. City Fleet and Administrative Coordinator Heather Czaplinski said the main criteria that establish an asset’s schedule for replacement are utilization, mileage, age, and cost of maintenance.

The City Council, at their next business meeting, will be considering the purchases of one 2026 Mack/Heil single-arm side loader from CMI-Teco for the amount of $450,864, and one 2026 Mack/LaBrie dual-arm side loader from CMI-Teco for the amount of $480,560 for the City’s Recycling Division. Czaplinski said both of the trucks are budgeted items.

The truck purchases will require amendments to the City’s budget for the current fiscal year because of cost increases.

The additional cost for the single-arm side loader is $33,270. The additional cost for the dual-arm side loader is $78,000. The purchases will be considered by the City Council at their January 5 business meeting.
