Clearmont Historical Center to Celebrate Veterans Day

On Tuesday, November 11, at 11 a.m., the Clearmont Historical Group will host their annual Veteran’s Day program commemorating Armistice Day, or the day when the armistice, or cease fire, was signed between the Allied forces of World War I and Germany in 1918.

The event, which happened in Compiègne, France, took effect at 11:00 a.m.—the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.”

The Clearmont event will start at the Clear Creek Valley Veteran’s Memorial, at 11, with a short talk, then the program will continue at the Clearmont Community Center. There will be special music by the AC School band, and several speakers talking about their service, or that of their families.

Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to attend.
