Pat BlairMindful of COVID-19 restrictions and mandates, the Downtown Sheridan Association is holding this year’s Third Thursday Street Festivals on Facebook.
Zoila Perry, DSA executive director, said the decision to hold the event virtually wasn’t an easy one for the organization’s Third Thursday Committee. But the goal is to ensure safety for DSA staff, volunteers, vendors and those who attend the event.
The first Third Thursday will be on June 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Perry said the DSA will also be taking donations that night for a non-profit organization in the community. She said a virtual concert will also take place during each of this year’s Third Thursday events, and a line-up of the local artists performing will be released once finalized.
Vendors who are participating in the Third Thursday Facebook event will be able to post in the event during the days leading up to Third Thursday. Perry said DSA wants the vendors to be part of the event, and the committee will assist in any way possible.
Non-profit organizations that would like to be considered as beneficiaries of Third Thursday donations are asked to fill out the application on the DSA website, downtownsheridan.org, or stop by the DSA office on Main Street. The deadline to apply for the June 18 event is Friday, June 12.
