While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan City Councilman Andrew Patceg and Public Works Director Hanns Mercer spoke on the upcoming roto mill and overlay project that will take place following the completion of the 2019 Capital Improvement Program Project for the replacement of the water main in North Heights.

According to Sheridan Utilities Director Dan Roberts, the pipes used in the original construction of the North Heights area were Ductile Iron Pipe. Over time, the highly acidic soils caused deterioration in these pipes, resulting in small holes. In the past, city crews have worked year round to patch these holes but in many areas of North Heights, the wear on the pipes had grown to be too much for patch jobs prompting the City to replace the main.

The councilman said with all that the residents have endured over the years of the project, crews will make the effort to perform Phase 2 in a timely manner and finish the work.

According to Patceg, the work is scheduled to begin sometime early this coming Summer season.
