Aaron PalmerJohnson County’s Commissioners have approved drafting a letter to the State Engineer’s Office asking for them to rescind a years-long requirement for the county to provide an annual report concerning Lake DeSmet.
At the commission’s last meeting, Chairman Bill Novotny explained further.
Novotny said the request for exemption from the state requirement came from the Lake DeSmet Advisory Board and the Lake DeSmet Operating Department, due to the large scale of work involved in compiling the report that no one actually reads
The commission approved the chairman to draft a letter to the state asking for the exemption from the annual report.
