Sheridan Community Land Trust is searching for residents interested in helping create ways to connect with nature and the outdoors in fun, healthy, and meaningful ways.
SCLT Recreation Program Manager Jared Koenig will be holding a Recreation Volunteer Open House to teach residents how they can help.
Residents will learn techniques to build new trails and the tools and processes needed to create them. Residents will also learn how to identify maintenance needs, how to report them and how to fix them.
Classes will also be taught how to make community trails fun and welcoming for everyone. Learn about SCLT trail system maps and guides and how to share those resources with fellow trails enthusiasts.
Participants are invited to share their skills and knowledge of nature and the outdoors with the community.
Have a skill or knowledge that you would like to pass along? From riding bikes to understanding geology, learn about opportunities to connect the community to recreation.
This open house will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the SCLT Community Rooms at 14 Lane Ln. Snacks and refreshments provided.
If residents would like to learn or share but cannot make the open house, SCLT is inviting the public to sign up by clicking here, and Koenig will contact them.
