Ron RichterCity of Sheridan officials recently received an update from the City Arborist. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The mission of the Sheridan Weed and Pest department is to protect and preserve Sheridan’s natural resources and parks. City Arborist Clark Van Hoosier provided an update on Sheridan Weed and Pest for 2024 to the Sheridan City Council and Mayor Rich Bridger. Van Hoosier talked about some of the spraying they do for invasive weeds in the area.
Van Hoosier also discussed the Weed and Pest Department’s mosquito control program.
Van Hoosier said that Japanese beetles continue to be a problem in Sheridan as they received a lot of calls from residents with damage to their gardens and flower beds from the highly destructive invasive insect that was first discovered and identified in August of 2020 when a City employee found one in Kendrick Park.
