There’s still one more bit of work that needs to be done on Main Street in Sheridan, and motorists will have to find a way around it.

WYDOT says beginning Monday (August 26th), the Main Street bridge over Little Goose Creek, on the north edge of downtown will close for rehabilitation work.

This will impact both motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

West 1st Street will also be closed between Main and Val Vista Streets and East 1st Street will be closed to thru traffic, however business access will be allowed.

Traffic on southbound Main Street will be encouraged to detour to Val Vista Street by way of 2nd Street, while northbound traffic will be encouraged to detour to Gould Street.

Dow Street will remain open.

A WYDOT spokesperson says the project is anticipated to take 4-6 weeks to complete.
