Our 90th anniversary celebration continues for KWYO and our search for promotional products from the past has brought in some unique items.

Sheridan Media’s Tommy B.

We’re still interested in your radio memories from KWYO, and we’re still getting some unusual items with advertising included.  Jean Harm brought in some high school yearbooks from Ranchester that have KWYO sponsorship advertising printed in them.  She used to listen to the Cris Williamson show after school.

Yes. Yes. It was a very popular show when we were in High School and Cris Williamson was a senior in 1965 I was a freshman so actually I listened to it probably, her more when I was in Junior High.

Even though Jean grew up in Sheridan she has close connections to Ranchester.

When my mom and dad got married they lived in Sheridan.  I never actually lived in Ranchester.  I was out there because my grandparents lived there and then my parents moved there after I graduated from Sheridan High School in 1968. So I’ve had connections in Ranchester all my life.

She remembers the school in Ranchester real well.

My mother and her siblings all went to high school, the grade school through high school there, it was a K-12 school. And it was located now close to where The Child’s Place is in Ranchester, and my grandparents property was right on the other side of the fence there.  It was just a neat old school and a beautiful playground.

Some photos of the KWYO advertisements from these Ranchester High School Yearbooks are included with this story on-line.

I’m Tommy B. for Sheridan Media News.
