Aaron PalmerThe Board of Trustees for the Johnson County School District have a new member that will serve out an unexpired term through the end of this year.
At their regular meeting Monday night, the board entered into an executive session to discuss the issue before entering back into the regular meeting to appoint a new board member.
Benito Maya was then sworn into office to fulfill the remainder of the term vacated earlier this summer by former Trustee Randy Brown when he resigned.
Maya will serve out the term through the end of the year, when new board members will be sworn after winning their seats in the general election in November.
