New Clearmont Pastor Lynn Qualm

Pastor Lynn Qualm, and his wife, Kay, have been in Clearmont for six months, and they attended the Clearmont Day celebration on Saturday, June 22. Qualm talked about how they came to Clearmont to pastor at the Clearmont Community Church.

He said they saw an ad on-line that Clearmont Church put out saying they wanted a pastor, after Pastor Cody Ramsey moved away last fall. Qualm said that he and his wife at first felt their mission would be Africa, but then the ministry turned to rural America.

He said Jim Baumgarter of the Clearmont Church called him, and they went through an interview process, but at first the church chose another candidate. He said they were in East Texas ministering at a church there, when Baumgartner called again saying the other applicant didn’t work out, and would he be interested.

He said the church took a vote to hire him, and then he and his wife prayed and felt that the Lord was leading them to this community.

He said they have adjusted to Clearmont but, “I don’t know if they have adjusted to us,” Qualm added with a laugh.

Clearmont Community Church, 1012 Water Street, welcomes all to their Sunday Worship Service at 10 a.m. There is a blended worship service, fellowship time, kids church, and a nursery. No need to dress up, causal dress is all that is required.
