News ReleaseSheridan Fire-Rescue, the Sheridan Police Department and Wyoming Regional EMS responded to the 600 block of South Carrington Street in Sheridan Monday at 8:56 am for the report of a garbage truck on fire. After crews arrived on scene, they found a City of Sheridan garbage truck with a moderate amount of smoke venting from the openings of the enclosed body.
According to information from SFR, Engine-2’s crew deployed a preconnected handline to initiate fire attack and sprayed water into the top opening from the exterior to control the fire. Once the fire was brought under control, E-2’s crew repositioned at the rear of the truck and the end gate was opened for improved access. Due to the large amounts of combustible materials packed together creating a deep seated fire that would be difficult to completely extinguish on the truck, the decision was made to empty the contents onto the street to finish extinguishing the fire. Once the fire was completely extinguished, the pile of trash was overhauled to remove any possibility of a rekindle.
No civilians or emergency personnel were injured during the fire and there was no damage to the garbage truck. Sheridan Fire-Rescue encourages the community to be cautious when disposing of items that may cause a fire, such as materials that generate heat through decomposition, discarded cigarettes, or ash from a fireplace.

Dennis the Menace. You have got to get a life dude. Nothing you say or do is going to influence how the citizens of Sheridan County votes or the decisions they make. If anything, they will do the opposite of what you suggest. You’re just not well thought of or liked. Silly boy!
See ya!
