Aaron PalmerThe Wyoming Department of Transportation opened bids on the Buffalo Main Street project earlier this month, and costs were higher than anticipated on the main project as well as Johnson County’s secondary project, according to County Road & Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer.
He gave details to the county commission at their meeting this week.
Pehringer said he recommends the county to move forward with the project, even with the increased cost because the Bypass Road is in dire need of repair and he is concerned that costs will just continue to go up.
The roughly $250,000 cost increase between the engineer’s estimate and the bids will be covered by County Road & Bridge Road Funds, according to Pehringer.
The commission voted to allow Chairman Novotny to sign the Letter of Concurrence on the project.
