Council Approves Funding Request From The Hub on Smith

On March 13, the Hub on Smith in Sheridan closed temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since that time, the number of home delivered meals a day have increased from 150 meals, to 400 meals being delivered daily, seven days a week. The Sheridan City Council Monday night approved a $25,000 funding request from The Hub to help with their home delivered meals program. Executive Director of the Hub, Carmen Rideout, said that they’ve already received numerous community donations.
President of the Board of Directors for the Hub, Anthony Spiegelberg, addressed the Council prior to their vote on the funding request.
Other business from the Council meeting included an update on the business impact of COVID-19 in Sheridan and third and final reading of an ordinance amending the City’s current ordinances for the cemetery. We’ll have more from the Council meeting for you in future stories.
