The idea of how to rebuild one of the major roads inside Yellowstone National Park is getting a lot of attention.
Due to significant interest two weeks ago, Yellowstone National Park will be holding 2 more virtual public meetings regarding construction of a new permanent North Entrance Road in the park.
The 2 added meetings will take place on Friday, March 1st at 10am (Click here), and on Wednesday, March 6th at 3:30pm (Click here).
The old North Entrance Road was destroyed in several locations during the big flood that happened in June of 2022.
A temporary road connecting Gardiner, Montana to Mammoth Hot Springs has since been built, but park officials say a permanent road is needed.
During each meeting, three preliminary road alignment alternatives will be presented along with two video flyovers to explain the damage, environmental challenges, constraints and opportunities of each alignment.
A public comment period remains open until March 13th. (Click here)
