I feel that being Law enforcement are city employees and they are the one who damaged this house, the city should be reimbursing those the home owner, contractors and businesses donating materials. I know the home owner personally ..maybe that is why I feel so supportive of her. I understand law enforcements urgency to arrest the suspect.

The death of the officer was unjustifiable, cold-blooded murder.Had his killer survived, I would have fully supported that survival lasting only as long as court proceeding took to end it
That said, the emotion of that tragedy needs to be separated from the extremely poor decision making and with lack of procedures or failure to follow them. In short, the chief of police should resign. To allow someones residence, who had nothing to do with the crime, to be demolished, to resolve a standoff is beyond logical thinking. It reeks of incompetence and inability to lead under pressure. I bet big city lawyers are calling the owner non-stop to take the case. This will become text book “what not to do” in police training classes. Emotion is powerful but rarely leads to sound decisions. Law enforcement needs she deserves stay leadership under pressure. With this guy holed up, you were holding all the cards.
