Johnson County Commission Makes Board Appointment

Johnson County’s Commissioners have approved an appointment to a county board and also approved catering permits for a recent event.

During their regular meeting Tuesday, County Clerk Jackie Camino explained the need for the catering permits.

Also approved by the commission was the re-appointment of Vicky Gearhart to the Mountain Plains Heritage Park Joint Powers Board for another term.

The commission approved just over $555,000 in vouchers which included money in escrow for the purchase of the property on the north end of Lake DeSmet.

According to Chairman Bill Novotny, the funding for the purchase is half grant and half settlement money.
