Aaron PalmerState Senator Dave Kinskey attended Tuesday’s Buffalo City Council meeting to discuss the upcoming Legislative Session that begins next Monday in Cheyenne.
Kinskey said one thing the legislature did not do in the last session was reform the property tax laws in Wyoming.
Kinskey did say he has a plan that he will be moving forward in this year’s session.
Kinskey reiterated that the bill would have the state back-fill funding to local governments and school districts that would lose money from the reduction in property taxes.
He said this can be implemented quickly without the need for a Constitutional amendment, and would not be a burden on local county treasurer’s offices.
He said this property tax reform would be “fast, immediate, and permanent.”
We will have more from Senator Kinskey’s talk with the Buffalo City Council in upcoming stories.
