Aaron PalmerThe Buffalo Chamber of Commerce announced an event scheduled for next Monday that will offer learning opportunities for Main Street revitalization and business growth.
Lindsey Wallace, with Main Street America (MSA) and Rachel Reilly, Catherine Lyons & Kenan Fikri with the Economic Innovation Group (EIG) will discuss emerging strategies in Opportunity Zones.
According to a release, “Local leaders are looking to Opportunity Zones as a tool to attract private investment and breathe new life into their communities’ commercial corridors and business districts. With final regulations now in hand and market activity ramping up, several models for harnessing this flexible federal financing tool for socially impactful economic development have started to emerge in communities ranging from the historic Anacostia neighborhood in Washington, D.C., to rural Brookville, Indiana.
EIG and MSA will discuss programs and services designed to help communities maximize the potential of Opportunity Zones and share examples of local initiatives and investments aimed at strengthening businesses and Main Streets across the country.”
The discussion is scheduled for Monday, March 30th from 10:30 to 11am MST and registrations can be done online.
