Road & Bridge Gives Update on Hazelton Road Project

Johnson County Road & Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer gave an update to the county commission this week on the upcoming Hazelton Road project.

Pehringer said the recent bid opening showed a significant savings not only for the county, but for the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) project on Highway 16 that the county project is piggy-backed onto.

Pehringer said in an earlier meeting that the scope of work will be a “piggyback” project on WYDOT’s upcoming Highway 16 pavement project where WYDOT will do pavement overlay on Hazelton Road from Highway 16 to the Billy Creek Access Road with the county doing the shoulder work on the road.

This is a continuation of the long-term project to complete the parking area and other improvements on Hazelton Road to improve winter time access in that area.
