Johnson County Test Results Negative for COVID-19

The Johnson County Emergency Operations Center, in a release Wednesday, reported that the Johnson County Healthcare Center has tested two residents for COVID-19, and both came back negative for the virus.

They also reported they are aware that childcare is needed in the county and are awaiting guidance on how to proceed with the issue.

So far, according to the release, there are 15 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Wyoming with no deaths as of Wednesday.

The EOC is telling people that most who contract the virus will have mild symptoms and should remain at home.

They are recommending steps to avoid the spread of the virus and steps to take if symptoms should appear.

Mild symptoms are cough and fever under 100, and mild to severe symptoms are fever over 100 with shortness of breath and cough.

Call your healthcare provider for guidance.

Recommended steps that can help avoid the spread of COVID-19 or similar illness include:

· Avoid close contact with sick people.

· While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible.

· Stay home if sick.

· Cover nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.

· Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs.

· Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub with at least 60 percent alcohol.
