Snow Patrol Volunteers are needed

The Hub on Smith reports they have teamed up with the City of Sheridan to help coordinate snow removal services for those in need within the Sheridan community.
According to the Hub on Smith, the City of Sheridan will be processing and vetting requests from citizens who request this service to ensure specific criteria are met. The City has also created a free smartphone app for the snow removal volunteers that will provide critical information identifying the service needs at the location they will be serving.
The app will also provide instructions, such as snow placement, to avoid flooding issues with the thaw. The app will have a “completed” button that removes the location from view once it has been shoveled, therefore reducing the risk of driving to areas that have already been served. For every location completed, the volunteers’ names will be entered in a drawing for prizes to be given out monthly. If a volunteer shovels 3 designated locations, it will count for 3 entries. Prizes include gift cards for gas and for local eateries in Sheridan.
The Hub’s responsibility in this effort is to manage the volunteer registrations so that sufficient resources are dedicated to this mission.
The Hub on Smith is accepting applications for volunteers and hope that people will come together to provide this vital service to help the vulnerable members of the Sheridan community this winter season.

Businesses wishing to participate, recognition will be made through the Hub’s social media platforms as well as in their newsletter and other print media.
Potential volunteers may access the Hub’s application via the Hub’s website https://thehubsheridan.org/volunteer/ or the QR code in the graphic. You may also stop by The Hub to pick up a paper application.
