cvannoyPumpkins were flying on Saturday, Nov. 4, when a good crowd of Sheridan area people turned out at Sheridan Junior High School parking lot and gym to enjoy the fun at City of Sheridan’s Third Annual Fall Pumpkin Festival.
The day was sunny and warm, and there was the huge pumpkin slingshot, pumpkin smashing and a face painting booth outside, with several vendors with booths inside the old gym. Youngsters were fitted with goggles during the pumpkin smash to protect their eyes from flying pieces of pumpkin.
Kelly Gould who is helping the city coordinate the event explained what they are doing at this year’s festival.
Casey Leahy parks department, talked about the giant slingshot used to lauch the pumpkins at a target.
Inside the gym were several booths from area businesses and organizations.

Executive director and co-founder of Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange, Carla Crayton said this is the third year they have done festiveal.

Marla Lewis Sugarland Ridge had a game with using a broom to move a mini pumpkin around some cones, and then shoot it into a goal. She said that when there are two youngsters competing it can get exciting.

Brandy Campbell with American Pacific Mortgage talked about their bean bag toss booth.
McKoy Feland with Sheridan recreation district had an obstacle course set up for youngsters, complete with Halloween decorations, ghosts and pumpkins.
Asher Lee participated in the obstacle course and took home a prize.
The parking lot was filled with smashed pumpkins, and everyone appeared to be having a good time at the 2023 festival, and a lot of pumpkins were recycled.

Now! Here’s an efficient use and enjoyable use of we the people’s tax base, for fun for all. It’s really that simple in proper use of my tax dollar. It’s not for the benefit of a few, or the monied, or the who’s who? It’s always been for all we the people. Remember that!
