Ron RichterA 73-year-old Wyoming man recently appeared in court for multiple felony charges, including attempted murder. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
During the early afternoon on September 3, the Wyoming Highway Patrol Responded to a report of a man with a gun near milepost 22 on US 287 outside of Rawlins. The caller stated to dispatch that a relative had shot her and another family member. According to information from the WHP, the victims fled towards Rawlins, followed by the assailant in a separate vehicle. Following a brief pursuit, Rawlins Troopers intercepted both vehicles and the suspect surrendered without incident. EMS transported the victims to Carbon County Hospital and the seriousness of one of the victim’s injuries required them to be transported to a trauma center.
Troopers arrested Melvin Leon Bagley for attempted murder charges. Bagley appeared at a hearing in Carbon County Circuit Court last week for the charges of two counts of second degree attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and reckless driving. Bagley remains in custody at the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office on a $500,000 cash bond.
