During their regular meeting Wednesday the Johnson County Commission voted to accept a contract amendment with the Department of Family Services for additional funding for the county’s mentoring program.

The amendment will add another $50,000 to the county’s mentoring program.

According to the county website, the Johnson County Juvenile Service Mentoring Program “connects adults from the community with youth who are in need of more direction in their lives. For whatever reason, they may be having difficulty at school, with peers, or seeing a positive future ahead of them. Their goal is to provide the county’s youth with community resources to achieve the highest potential possible to help sustain them throughout their lives.”
