Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett reported to the city council during their last meeting that the police department and sheriff’s office are continuing to deal with Swatting calls to the dispatch center.

Bissett said the department is working with the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to try to figure out where the calls are coming from and get them to stop.

According to Wikipedia, ‘Swatting’ is a criminal harassment tactic of deceiving or hoaxing an emergency dispatcher into sending an emergency service response team or police to another address through false reporting of incidents such as a bomb threat, murder, hostage situation, mental health emergency, or other such emergency situations.
