Herons at home has changed locations

The birds have flown and so must this week’s Unplug with Discovery Sessions hosted by Science Kids and Sheridan Community Land Trust.
Herons at Home, part 1 will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 27. Attendees are now being asked to meet at South Park.
The Sheridan Community Land Trust and Science Kids are inviting the community to join them to learn all about the great nature story that has played out over the past two weeks from Dr. Julie Rieder of Science Kids! She’ll also teach attendees all about what’s happening in the new rookery as they watch and observe herons in their new home.
During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Rieder told SCLT Executive Director Brad Bauer and host, Floyd Whiting, that the location of the old rookery had some squatters move in this year, which may or may not play a part in the heron’s choice to relocate.
SCLT recommends dressing for weather and to bring binoculars if people should have them.
