The show, or in this case, the parade must go on and it will, on a different route.
The Sheridan WYO Rodeo Committee has received approval from the city of Sheridan, to move the parade route one block west to get around the construction on Main Street.
The parade, scheduled for Friday, July 14th 2023 and next year, will start at the intersection of Brooks and Dow Street, proceed south on Brooks, turn left on Works Street, cross-over Main, turn left on Gould Street, and head back towards Dow where it will end.
Brandy Campbell is the Parade Chair for the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Board.
She says the board wanted to keep the parade as close to downtown as possible, but also minimize the number of turns that parade participants have to make.
“We want to drive business into our downtown location as much as we can, since we have probably 10,000 people watching that parade and we had hoped to maybe try to dump it back onto Main Street when available, but that adds more corners. That’s tough for people that are driving teams, plus we don’t know where construction will be at that time.”
Campbell adds that plans for pre-parade activities such as the pancake feed, bed races, and the Sneakers and Spurs Race have yet to be announced.

Last year the judges were on the left side of the parade route. What side of the route are they THIS year?
