The Downtown Sheridan Main Street Resurfacing & Utility Upgrade project will resurface all of the aging roadway, replace infrastructure and offered an opportunity to business owners downtown.

As the City upgrades the utilities, tie-ins to the waterline for the upgrading of potable water and sewer main as well as installation of fire suppression sprinkler systems were offered to building owners. The upgrade is a tempting offer for owners who have the option to rent apartment space in the future.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Sheridan Fire and Rescue Chief, Gary Harnish, told listeners that the systems not only save lives, the systems save property. And here in Wyoming, that means history.

According to the Chief, sprinklers focus water distribution in smaller areas, at the specific location of the fire, much better than larger fire hoses. This helps to prevent a large amount of water damage that comes from fire suppression.

The entire project is scheduled to be complete by October of 2024, weather dependent. For a detailed outline of the Sheridan Main Street and Utility Upgrade Project, click here
