Sheridan County Ratifies Letter of Support for Mosquito Management Program

Sheridan County’s Commissioners have ratified a Letter of Support for Bighorn Airways, Inc. for the county’s mosquito management program.

The agreement, between Bighorn Airways and Sheridan County Weed & Pest District, approves the company to perform aerial application of larvicidal chemicals for mosquito control.

According to the Letter of Support, the program will operate during June, July, and August of this year, with specific dates of application to be determined by mosquito populations and weather conditions.

The program helps ensure the county has the fewest West Nile Virus cases as possible.

In the letter, the commission said they support Bighorn Airways’ Congested Area Flight Plan for the program.
