A change of plea hearing was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 49-year-old Tracy Duff who is charged with possessing methamphetamine and marijuana. Duff pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance – marijuana. When Duff was arrested on October 25, 2022, he was in possession of approximately 16 grams of methamphetamine. An amount in excess of three grams is a felony in Wyoming.
The plea agreement reached with the State recommends a sentence of 4 to 5 years in prison, suspended in lieu of a split-sentence of the amount of time served since Duff was arrested or until he can get into an inpatient, residential treatment program. District Court Judge Darci Phillips ordered that a presentence investigation be completed by probation and parole and said a sentencing date will be scheduled in the future.
