JCSD1 Board Approves BHS Elevator Repair

The Johnson County School Board has voted to approve and accept a proposal for the renovation and repair of the elevator at Buffalo Highs School.

At the recent school board meeting, Facilities Director John Zink discussed the proposal from TK Elevator Corporation, explaining the project further.

According to the proposal, TK Elevator Corporation’s modernization package will include the elevator mechanical and electrical components being replaced, refurbished or retained, and according to them, the benefits are increased durability and reliability, improved fire and life safety features, decreased waiting times, reduced energy consumption, operational cost, and troubleshooting time.

The amount of the proposal is just under $215,000 and was approved by the state to be paid by the School Major Maintenance Fund.
