State Representative Bary Crago (R-Johnson, Sheridan Counties), in his latest update with Sheridan Media on the current legislative session, talked about the recently passed budget bill that was passed by both chambers of the legislature.

He was asked if he was satisfied with the end result.

He said some funding went to needed programs such as Wyoming Home services that provides Meals on Wheels.

He said lawmakers were pleased they could put as much money as they did into savings.

Crago said there were some differences in the chambers on which accounts to use for savings but in the end the House and Senate compromised to get the bill passed.

Crago explained permanent funds earn around five percent interest while intermediate funds average from eight to nine percent, which he said makes a big difference when you’re talkin hundreds of millions of dollars.
