Pat BlairDining for a Cause is a great fundraiser and brings out a lot of support from the community for The Food Group, according to Everett McGlothlin.
McGlothlin, who was one of The Food Group representatives on hand for this month’s Dining for a Cause at Frackelton’s Monday, said The Food Group has been the recipient of the event almost every year or every other year.
Among the diners who came for lunch at Frackelton’s was Craig Dougherty, superintendent of Sheridan County School District 2. Dougherty said The Food Group is a phenomenal organization of volunteers.
The goal of The Food Group is to provide weekend meals for students who otherwise might go hungry. Organizers say that many children rely heavily on the food they receive through school programs during the week, and these children often don’t have access to meals on the weekends.
The program buys food locally, is anonymous, open to any child and provides meals to the children at no cost to their families.
