The Sheridan Community Land Trust is once again holding the In Bloom 2022 fundraiser presented by Sheridan Media beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College, Rooms W235-236.
Attendees will learn how Native American Tribes utilized Yellowstone for 11,000 years from archaeologist Professor Douglas MacDonald of the University of Montana. Douglas will tell stories and share experiences and insights from his time leading cutting-edge archaeological excavations in Yellowstone National Park.
While appearing on Sheridan Meida’s Public Pulse program, SCLT Director of Marketing & Development Chris Vrba informed listeners on the ways their continued support helps SCLT in Sheridan.
SCLT Trails Program Manager Will Dutcher spoke on the ever expanding trails system developed and maintained by the Land Trust that attracts so many people from around the nation.
Funds raised during the event will also help SCLT continue programs like the Discovery Session and the popular Explore History.
Executive Director of the Sheridan Community Land Trust Brad Bauer told listeners those funds also assist the Land Trust with conservation efforts to preserve the wide open spaces of the Sheridan Region.
The evening will include a live & silent auction featuring many fun items and experiences and include a raffle for a Weatherby Element® Semi-Auto 20 Gauge Shotgun. SCLT will also hold a Paddle Raise to help conserve local lands & ranches, preserve & tell stories about local Sheridan history and connect the community to the outdoors.
The evening will begin with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres & desserts at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Whitney Center for the Arts lobby.
