Buffalo Council Approves Race for the Rest of Us

An upcoming event in Buffalo will give the non-athlete in all of us a chance to contribute to a great cause without much possibility of physical harm.
The Race for the Rest of Us will be happening on Saturday, June 4 and will be raising funds for Friends Feeding Friends in Johnson County.
The idea, according to organizer Sally Wright, is to raise money through a “race” of people who normally wouldn’t or couldn’t participate in a longer 5K or 10K race.
She explained the event further during a recent Buffalo City Council meeting.
Wright said there will be food, prizes and t-shirts for the event.
The council approved an open container area from 4 to 5 p.m. and a police escort while the participants cross Main Street.
The event will begin at 4 p.m.
According to their website, Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends’ mission is to fund and distribute nourishing food to Johnson County children who might otherwise go hungry.
