October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Sheridan Advocacy and Resource Center Assistant Director Rhonda Weber read a proclamation at Monday night’s Sheridan City Council meeting recognizing and proclaiming October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Sheridan.

Executive Director Yvonne Shirey talked about one of their biggest struggles in their effort to provide assistance to victims of domestic violence.

Shirey said the center works with not only victims of domestic and family violence, but sexual assault, stalking, non-domestic assaults and other violent crimes.  Representatives with the Sheridan Advocacy and Resource Center will be on Public Pulse with host Floyd Whiting on Tuesday, September 29.
