Red Grade Road Construction Restrictions Have Ended for the Season

Construction restrictions for Red Grade Road in Sheridan County have ended for the season. The weekday closure schedule will resume in the spring of 2027. According to information from the Sheridan County Public Works Department, additional information regarding timing and duration of future closures will be provided at that time. Sheridan County appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation throughout the ongoing Red Grade Road project.

Sheridan County in cooperation with The Federal Highway Administration’s Central Federal Lands Highway Division and federal land management agencies is improving approximately 2.5 miles of Red Grade Road. Construction is intended to improve safety, traffic flow and drainage along the heavily used route.  Traffic study results indicated that traffic use on the road has tripled over the last five years.
