Visitors Need to Keep Their Marijuana in Home State

Published

on

Wyoming Highway Patrol Captain Erik Jorgensen urged visitors to leave their marijuana at home.

Wyoming is bordered by states with varying marijuana laws. Montana allows both recreational and medical marijuana use for adults 21 and older. Utah, Nebraska and South Dakota permit marijuana only for limited medical use, while Idaho prohibits both recreational and medical marijuana.

Marijuana remains illegal in Wyoming. The state does not allow recreational or medical marijuana and continues to classify it as a Schedule I controlled substance under state law.

Despite marijuana being legal in many states, the black market for large quantities has not dwindled. Jorgensen said troopers are finding that the reasons people transport large amounts of marijuana illegally have changed as neighboring states have legalized its use.

Yeah no matter will still buy and bring it back. You only catch the special ones that have 2 brain cells fighting for 3rd place. Everyone knows its just old people holding it back, not wanting any funding outside special interest groups 😀

Ya that is not how it works. Federal law trumps state law. So what Wyoming is doing is highly illegal.. General Keith Kautz should sued!

If the state of Wyoming were to legalize marijuana it would be able to text it and apply the taxes to schools to policing to roads there are a lot more benefits to recreational use of marijuana Wyoming just needs to get with the rest of the United States……

I thank God, Wyoming does not let marijuana be legal. Keep Wyoming clean.

While alcohol continues to destroy lives, kill, maim, skew perspectives and inhibitions. Our kids in Wyoming are drinking in junior high and high school regularly. It’s Wyoming culture, apparently.

I strongly believe marajuana needs to be kept out of Wyoming. It is absolutely a gateway drug, and will destroy the people it touches.

Flip side, it is an alternative for folks otherwise on opiates for pain; a lesser of two evils. Strongly regulated, it is a God given option if we’re careful.
