University of Wyoming Spring Football Practice: Today marks the halfway point for spring practices for the University of Wyoming Football Team.
The Brown and Gold will hold the first of 2 scrimmages this coming Saturday, to see how far the team has progressed.
UW Head Coach Jay Sawvel says the Pokes’ defense has had some good moments so far, in particular in 2-minute situations against the offense, but that doesn’t mean one side is ahead of the other.
After the scrimmage on Saturday, the Cowboys will host a 45-minute youth clinic, starting at 12-noon, for all youngsters between the ages of 6 and 12.
The Brown and Gold Game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 25th.
Sheridan HS Nordic Ski: Not only did Sheridan High School win its first boys team title in school history this past winter, one Lady Bronc repeated as champ.
Senior Kayley Alicke is now the 2-time girls freestyle 5 kilometer race state champ, winning by 34 seconds at the recent state meet near Pinedale.
It was the second time this season that she had been there and it was different compared to the first time.
She says there was more snow, and gives credit to a good training program in Sheridan when there wasn’t much white stuff in the lower elevations.
In the girls team standings, Sheridan placed 4th out of 8 teams.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: For the first time since mid-September 2024, the Colorado Rockies have swept a series at home.
The Rocks won yesterday vs. Houston 9-1, to even their season record at 6-6.
Hunter Goodman hit a solo home run as a contribution.
Colorado starts a 7-game road trip today, with the first of 4 games at San Diego.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:40pm.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won last night at home vs. Memphis 136-119.
With 2 games remaining in the regular season, Denver has a 1 ½ game lead on both the LA Lakers and Houston, for the #3 seed in the west playoffs.
The Nuggets are next scheduled to play in their regular season home finale on Friday vs. Oklahoma City.
