The Food Group’s annual Fill the Bus campaign will begin at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday Sept. 24, at Albertsons, located at 1865 Coffeen Ave.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Food Group Program Director Elizabeth Moore told listeners about one such program, The Food Group’s Teen Pantries.
The Teen Pantries feed approximately 150 – 200 junior high and high school kids every week.
The Food Group serves children from 24 schools in the Sheridan area through their flagship Weekend Food Bag program, feeding over 400 kids every week.

According to McMeans, last year the Fill the Bus campaign brought in approximately 3,500 lbs of food. Although very happy with this number, McMeans is hoping to exceed that weight this year.
To join this fight against hunger in the community, residents can bring a reusable bag or many, purchase groceries and add to the efforts of ensuring Sheridan kids focus on learning and not worry about eating.
