Bronc Football – Colson Coon scored 4 touchdown on Friday night (October 15th) to help the Sheridan Broncs win at Campbell County 38-7 and improve the teams record to 7-1.
The regular season concludes this Friday at Thunder Basin at 6pm.
A Sheridan win would assure the Broncs no worse than the #2 seed for the playoffs, and that means the Broncs would play at home in both the first round and the semi-finals.
Big Horn-Tongue River Football: Garrett Ostler caught all 3 touchdown passes for Tongue River, as well as the winning 2-point conversion with 59.7 seconds to go, as the Eagles defeated Big Horn 22-21.
In the process, TR would snap a 10-game losing streak to the Rams, and win the Thunder Bowl for the first time since 2006.
Ostler says the first half of the game wasn’t all that great, but that was to be expected.
Trailing 21-to 14 in the 4th quarter, and with time becoming a factor, Tongue River had to go for it, on 4th and 7 from their own 36.
Ostler says he knew what the play was, but he didn’t think he was going to end up scoring a touchdown.
The Eagles initially scored on the 2-point conversion afterwards, but that play was called back on a holding call against Ostler.
After being backed up 10 yards, they rolled the dice and tried for 2 again, and their gamble paid off.
Ostler says the play wasn’t supposed to go to him, but he was open when the team realized the initial plan wasn’t going to work.
With the win, Tongue River’s record is now 3-4, and they still have a small chance to make the playoffs.
First they have to win this Friday (October 22nd) at Glenrock, which kicksoff at 6pm, and then get some help.
Meanwhile, Big Horn is now 4-3, and play their home finale this Friday at 1pm at home vs. Upton-Sundance.
A Ram win would get them into the playoffs.

The girls will play their home finale this Friday (October 15th) at 5pm vs. Campbell County, and then play Saturday at Thunder Basin.
Big Horn split their 2A Northeast Quadrant matches, winning 3-0 at Wright, but then lost 3-1 home vs. Moorcroft.
The Lady Rams play their last home game this Friday (October 22nd), at 2pm vs. Sundance, and then play at Greybull on Saturday.
Tongue River also split their weekend games.
They swept Sundance on Friday, but then got swept at Riverside on Saturday.
The Lady Eagles were also supposed to play at Greybull on Saturday, but that match was canceled.
TR is home vs. Moorcroft on Thursday (October 21st) at 6pm, then home vs. Wright on Friday at 3:30pm, and at Rocky Mountain on Saturday.
Arvada-Clearmont lost all 4 of their matches last week, losing to Upton, Kaycee, Midwest and Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow.
The Lady Panthers are scheduled to play in their home finals on Friday vs. Hulett, then travel to Ten Sleep on Saturday, to play both Ten Sleep and Dubois.
Cross Country – Austin Akers finished 2nd for the boys and Sheridan as a team would finish 2nd at the 4A East Regional meet at Gillette.
Alexa Miller was 6th for the Sheridan girls, as they would finish 3rd.
Cheyenne Central won both the boys and girls competition.
The meet was originally scheduled to run on Friday, but was postponed 1 day due to too much snow on the course.
Big Horn and Tongue River were scheduled to run at the 2A East Regional meet at Hulett, but it was canceled due to too much snow on the ground.
The Cross Country State Meet is this Saturday, October 23rd at Ethete.
Swimming/Diving – The Sheridan Girls Swimming and Diving team placed 7th out of 19 teams at the Gillette Invitational this past weekend, which usually considered a preview of the state meet.
Up next is the 4A East Regional meet this Friday and Saturday (October 22nd and 23rd) at Cheyenne South.
Cowboy Football – The Wyoming Cowboys were shut out at home back on Saturday against Fresno State 17-0.
The Pokes threw 4 interceptions and fumbled once in the game.
With the loss, US now has a record of 4-2, and will play their homecoming game this Saturday (October 23rd) vs. New Mexico, beginning at 1:30pm.
Bronco Football – The Denver Broncos were down 24-7 in the 3rd quarter, and recovered too late, and they would lose at home vs. the Las Vegas Raiders 34-24.
Teddy Bridgewater passed for 3 touchdowns for the Broncos who are now 3-3 on the season.
Denver has little time to recover, because they play in the Thursday night game (October 21st), at Cleveland.
Junior Hockey – The Sheridan Junior Hawks lost both games vs. Great Falls during the weekend, 7-2 and 10-3.
Up next is a 6-game road trip, starting with games this Friday and Saturday at Cody.
The next home game is scheduled for Friday, November 12th.

To: All Sheridan Business Owners and Sheridan High Supporters:
It has been over five years, now, since I have contacted both the Sheridan Press,
and Sheridan Media, about this continuous problem (issue) of people, like myself, and
all of those supprters abd SHS fans who are not able to watch these athletic games
either home or away games) I have tried, without success, to get someone who is
considerate enough, to explain,in detail,on how we can watch these games on our TVs
or by our computers (streaming). I cannot understand why our Sheridan businesses have
not made this issue a success, so these fans can watch all of their games. Last
Friday, I was not able to watch the game, but, could not find the radio broadcast on
KWYO. Hopefully, these calls and messages can get this issue resolved and settled.
It is about time!!!!! Thank you. Darrell G. Woofter, Class of 1957
