Sheridan Troopers Victorious In First Game Of 2021 WY Legion Baseball AA State Tournament

Dalton Nelson pitched a complete game 7-innings, Caden Steel had 3 RBI’s and Cody Kilpatrick added 2 of his own, as the Sheridan Troopers defeated Evanston 9-2 in the first round of the 2021 Wyoming Legion Baseball AA State Tournament in Laramie.

Nelson ended up throwing 90 pitches, allowed 2 runs, 4 hits, struck out 4 and walked one.

The Troopers (43-21) got 2 runs in each of the first 3 innings to build a 6-0 lead, then added 3 more in the top of the 7th for insurance.

Five errors by Evanston (29-25) aided the Troopers cause.

Sheridan moves on to the second round to be played on Tuesday, July 27th at 4pm, against either Cheyenne Post 6.
