Sheridan/Buffalo HS Soccer: The regular season has concluded for 4A Soccer teams and now it’s on to the regional tournaments.

Back on Friday, Sheridan won both the boys and girls contests vs. Thunder Basin.

For the Lady Broncs, the game did not matter as for as seeding for the regional tournament goes, because they already had the #1 seed locked up before the game started, but they did keep their undefeated record intact.

Sheridan is 13-0-1 on the season and will have a first round bye in the tournament.

They will play on Friday vs. the winner of Thursday’s game between Cheyenne East vs. Campbell County.

Regardless of what happens at the regional tournament, the Lady Broncs are already in the state tournament.

As for the boys, they finished tied for first in the 4A East with Cheyenne Central, however they lost the head-to-head tie-breaker and will have to settle for the #2 seed.

The Broncs will play on Thursday in a do or die game vs. Cheyenne South.

The winner qualifies for the state tournament and will continue to play in the regional tournament on Friday and Saturday.

The loser is done for the season.

The 4A East Regional Tournament will be played at Thunder Basin.

As for Buffalo, they have one more game to play in the regular season, because 3A does not have a regional tournament.

This past weekend the Bison shut out Newcastle at home, won a first place battle at Torrington, and are now tied for first in the 3A East.

As for the Lady Bison, they also won games vs. Newcastle and Torrington.

Both Buffalo teams will conclude their regular season this coming Friday at Worland.


Sheridan HS Softball: Sheridan concluded their first regular season this past weekend, with double-header sweeps at both Worland and Jackson.

The Lady Broncs are 17-8-2 on the season and are preparing for the North Regional Tournament, which is this coming Friday and Saturday at Natrona County.

The bracket should be available by tomorrow.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Track and Field: Teams are preparing for the upcoming regional meets this weekend.

Sheridan will compete at the 4A East Meet at Campbell County.

Buffalo is hosting the 3A East Meet.

Big Horn, Tongue River, Arvada-Clearmont and Kaycee will all be at the 2A and 1A East Regional Meet at Torrington.

The state meet is next week in Casper.

Sheridan/Buffalo Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers split weekend home games both on Saturday vs. Rapid City Post 320 and yesterday against Bozeman, Montana.

The team will next play this coming Thursday in a single 9-inning non-conference game at home vs. Gillette.

As for Buffalo, the team lost both ends of a double-header yesterday at home vs. Cody.

The Bulls are not scheduled to play again until Tuesday the 27th at Gillette.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost 2 out of 3 games this past weekend at home vs. San Diego.

The Rocks lost on Friday 13-9.

Michael Toglia, Ryan McMahon and Jordan Beck each hit solo home runs.

Saturday’s game was a laugher as the Padres dominated by a score of 21-zip.

Colorado won yesterday 9-3.

Hunter Goodman hit a 3-run blast and McMahon had another solo shot.

After the game, the team fired both Head Coach Bud Black and Bench Coach Mike Redmond.

Third base coach Warren Schaeffer will take over on an interim basis.

The Rockies are 7-33 on the season and will start a 3-game series today at Texas, starting at 6:05pm.


Denver Nuggets Basketball/NBA Playoffs: The Denver Nuggets split weekend home games vs. Oklahoma City in their best of 7 western conference semi-final series.

The Nuggets won on Friday 113-104 in overtime, but the opposition won yesterday 92-87.

The series is tied at 2 wins each.

Game 5 is tomorrow at Oklahoma City and Game 6 will be played on Thursday at Denver.

Elsewhere in the NBA Playoffs, Indiana now has east top seed Cleveland on the ropes, after beating them yesterday 129-109.

The Pacers now lead the series 3-1.

Tonight is Game 4 between Boston and New York as well as Minnesota and Golden State.

The Knicks and Timberwolves both lead their series 2-1.


NHL Playoffs: Dallas topped Winnipeg last night 5-2 to take a 2-1 series lead.

Florida shut out Toronto 2-zip to tie the series at 2.

Tonight is Game 4, between Washington and Carolina as well as Vegas and Edmonton.

The Hurricanes and Oilers hold 2-1 leads in their respective series.
