Sheridan HS Boys and Girls Soccer: Both of the Sheridan High School soccer teams started the 2025 season with wins in shutout fashion this past Friday.

The Broncs blanked Worland 7-nil, thanks to a hat trick by Kelten Crow.

The senior says it’s good to have a game under their belt, but there’s still plenty of things to work on.

Meanwhile the girls did one goal better than the boys as they beat Worland 8-nil.

Sydney Warnke had a hat trick, while Juliet Kane and Avery McMullen each scored twice.

Warnke says if this year is to be successful, the Lady Broncs have to get along both on and off the field.

McMullen says so far, Sheridan is playing like a team.

Conference play starts this weekend as both the Broncs and Lady Broncs play Cheyenne South on Friday and Laramie on Saturday.

The boys will be on the road and the girls at home.

Friday’s game for the Lady Broncs is tentatively set to be played at Big Horn, because Sheridan is also scheduled to host an outdoor track and field meet, but with an approaching weather system moving in, it’s possible the track meet could get canceled, and then the soccer game could get moved back to Sheridan.

University of Wyoming Football: Spring practice at the University of Wyoming starts today in Laramie.

The Pokes will practice 15 times, 3 days a week for 5 weeks up to the Brown and Gold Spring game on Saturday, April 26th.

There will be open practices to the public on Saturdays and more information on that will be announced by the team later.

Despite their 3-9 record last year, UW led the nation in 3rd down conversion percentage on defense, allowing first downs on a 3rd down play, about 26% of the time and were one of only 4 teams below 30% in that category.

The 2025 regular season starts on Thursday, August 28th at Akron.

The home opener is on Saturday, September 6th against Northern Iowa.

Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets lost last night at home vs. Chicago 129-119.

The Nuggets next play tomorrow at home vs. Milwaukee.

Colorado Rockies Pre-Season Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost their home finale yesterday vs. Milwaukee 4-2.

The Rocks will conclude the pre-season today at Minnesota, starting at 11:05am.

The team will then have 2 days off and begin the 2025 regular season on Friday with a 3-game series at Tampa Bay, followed by 3 games at Philadelphia.

The home opener is on Friday, April 4th against the Athletics.
