A win is a win, no matter how you get it, or which team you beat!
On Tuesday (February 11th), the Arvada-Clearmont varsity boys basketball team scored at the buzzer, to win on the road against a Campbell County Freshmen team, 35-32.
It marks the first win for the Panthers, against any opponent, since December 17th, 2020 (first game of the season at home vs. Normative Services, 75-51).
Since that last win, A-C has been on a state record, 90-game losing streak (old record was 63 set by Kemmerer from 1986-1989) (source: wyoming-basketball.com).
Arvada-Clearmont went 1-17 in the 2020-2021 season (won first game, lost the rest, this includes 2 forfeit losses to Hulett and Upton, due to a flu outbreak and were never made up).
The team went 0-20 in the 2021-2022 season and 0-18 in the 2022-23 season.
There were several reports that the team defeated a Sheridan Sophomore team on February 1st, 2023, but that was a girls score and the boys game was canceled).
Another 0-20 season followed in 2023-24, and then before Tuesday, the Panthers were 0-15 on the 2024-25 season.
17+20+18+20+15 = 90
According to A-C Coach Justin Kidneigh, for the 2 seniors on this season’s team (Ian Andreen and Caden Manor), it’s their first win ever…middle or high school.
Arvada-Clearmont plays again on Thursday, February 13th at home vs. Upton and on Friday, February 14th at Hulett.

I was on a Little League baseball team that lost every game for 3 years. But the next two years saw us tie for first place. Never give up.
