Sheridan HS Basketball: 4A East Conference play started this past weekend for the Sheridan Broncs and Lady Broncs.

The boys won both games at home, winning on Friday vs. Cheyenne East 62-47, and on Saturday at home vs. Cheyenne Central 59-41.

The girls ended up dropping both home games, as well as their first 2 games of the season, losing against East 47-40 and to Central 49-44.

Both the Broncs and Lady Broncs are on the road this weekend as the teams play on Friday at Laramie and on Saturday at Cheyenne South.


Big Horn/Tongue River/Arvada-Clearmont HS Basketball: Big Horn and Tongue River played each other back on Thursday, and had the weekend off from competition.

TR next plays Friday at 3A Newcastle, and on Saturday at home vs. Wright.

BH next plays Friday at home vs. Moorcroft and on Saturday at Sundance.

Arvada-Clearmont hosted the Little 6 Invitational this past weekend.

The Lady Panthers went 3-0, defeating Midwest, Dubois and the freshman team from Buffalo

The Panthers ended up dropping all 3 games against Ten Sleep, Dubois and the Buffalo freshmen.

A-C next plays Friday at Upton and on Saturday at home vs. Hulett.

Sheridan HS Wrestling: The Sheridan boys placed 4th out of 8 teams at the Trojan War Border Duals at Kelly Walsh.

The Broncs compiled a record of 4-3 at the event.

The Lady Broncs placed 3rd out of 10 teams at a similar meet at Natrona County, putting together a record of 5-2.

Sheridan as well as Tongue River is next scheduled to compete this Friday and Saturday at Moorcroft.

Sheridan HS Boys Swimming: Sheridan placed 6th out of 12 teams at the Cheyenne Invitational on Saturday.

The Broncs will compete in their home finale this coming Friday in a dual vs. Kelly Walsh.

Sheridan County HS Indoor Track and Field: The season started this past weekend at Gillette.

The Sheridan boys placed first and the girls were second in the team standings.

Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: Things did not go well for the Sheridan Hawks on their home ice.

The team dropped both games vs. Bozeman, by scores of 4-2 and 5-2.

Sheridan is still in 2nd place in the NA3HL’s Frontier Division, but their hold on that spot is weakening.

The Hawks will try to regroup this Friday and Saturday at home vs. Rapid City.


University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys dropped the first leg of the Border War on Saturday, losing at home vs. Colorado State 79-63.

The Rams shot nearly 52% from the field, while the Pokes shot nearly 40%.

Obi Agbim led all scorers with 26 points, while Dontaie Allen put in 14.

UW is now 9-9 on the season with a 2-5 record in the Mountain West Conference.

The Brown and Gold next play tomorrow at UNLV.

Speaking of UW and UNLV, the Cowgirls dropped a 1-point heartbreaker yesterday on the road, 72-71 in overtime.

The ladies did a better job shooting wise vs. their opponents, 51%-41%, but the stat that stood out the most, was that the Lady Rebels had 16 offensive rebounds.

Allyson Fertig led Wyoming with 22 points.

Emily Mellema and Malene Pedersen each contributed with 16.

The Brown and Gold are now 10-8 overall with a 4-2 record in the Mountain West Conference.

The team next plays on Wednesday at Air Force.


Denver Nuggets: The Denver Nuggets won both games on their Florida road trip this past weekend, winning on Friday at Miami 133-113, and yesterday at Orlando 113-100.

The Nuggets next play tomorrow at home vs. Philadelphia.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche doubled up Dallas at home on Saturday 6-3.

The Avs next play today at home vs. Minnesota, starting at 1pm.
